How personal information is collected, used, retained and protected when you enquire, discuss a role or take part in a recruitment process.

PlaceAuPro is responsible for personal information submitted through this website and information processed during an agreed recruitment process. Privacy requests can be submitted through the contact form.
Information processed
An initial enquiry may include your name, email, telephone number, organisation, role interest and message. Later recruitment stages may require a CV, work history, qualifications, compensation expectations, location, availability, interview notes and references. Sensitive information is requested only where lawful, relevant and communicated in advance.
Purpose and legal grounds
Information is used to respond to enquiries, assess potential alignment, introduce candidates where authorised, deliver an agreed search, maintain records, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations. Processing may rely on consent, requested pre-contractual steps, contract, legal duties or legitimate interests appropriate to recruitment.
Candidate control and sharing
A candidate profile is not sent to an employer merely because it was received. We seek appropriate permission before a specific introduction. Data may be shared with the relevant hiring organisation and necessary service providers under suitable obligations. We do not sell candidate databases.
Checks and references
Identity, qualification, employment, credit or criminal checks are not automatic. The type, reason, authorisation and service provider must be explained before a lawful check is requested. Referees should not be contacted without an agreed process.
Retention and security
Initial enquiries that do not progress are normally removed after 24 months. Active placement, contract, financial and compliance records may be retained for periods required by South African law or a legitimate dispute. Controls include access restriction, validation, rate limiting and data minimisation.
Your rights
You may request access, correction or deletion, object to appropriate processing, withdraw consent where it applies, or complain. Identity verification may be required.
